Indigenous Peoples Movements in Southeast Asia

More Info
From Papua New Guinea to the Orang Asli tribe in peninsular Malaysia, to movements against rampant industrialisation and globalisation or movements of self-determination to define their own countries or borders, indigenous people in Southeast Asia are engaged in struggles with oppressive governments. In many countries, they are now a minority community even though these are the first or native inhabitants of the region, and are often struggling to be granted basic amenities or for affirmative action in education and jobs or in recognition of their rights over their own homes and land.
