Sexual Harassment in Egypt
More Info
Sexual harassment in Egypt is on the rise according to women's rights organizations. It is experienced by the vast majority of women, veiled or not, and yet the majority of men blame the victims for bringing on the attack. A 2008 poll showed that 62.5% of Egyptian men admitted to sexually harassing women. Currently, Egypt has no law against sexual harassment and despite evidence that this is a widespread phenomenon, authorities prefer to ignore it.
