Emergency Law and Police Brutality in Egypt
More Info
On November 19th, after the Supreme Council of Armed Forces failed to implement any significant changes regarding Emergency law and more, hundreds of thousands took to the streets. Police violence resulted in dozens dead and over a thousand injured. Egypt has been ruled by Emergency Law since 1967, which has allowed both the regime under Hosni Mubarak and the current military regime to detain people without charges, prohibit demonstrations, censor the media, and more.
