Femicide in Italy

More Info
Femicide in Italy is rampant across the country, with an EU.RES report finding that 2,061 femicides were committed between 2000 and 2011. At least 41 have been committed in 2013 so far. In 2012, the United Nations also reported that violence against women is the most common form of violence in Italy. Although there are laws to protect women from such violence, they are not always enforced, making it easier for men to engage in femicide without major consequences.
