Repression of Dissent in Russia

More Info
Abuses of human and civil rights are widespread in Russia with dissent rarely going unpunished. Russia's slide into un-democratic practices which was accelerated under the presidency of Vladimir Putin consists of growing restrictions on free press, including intimidation and murders of opposition journalists, arrests and torture of protesters and dissidents, limitations on activities of non-governmental organizations, and violations of freedom of assembly, children's rights and freedom of religion.
