Anti-Corruption Protests in Moldova

More Info
Fifty thousand people have taken to the streets of the Moldovan capital of Chisinau to demand the resignation of the country’s government and an end to state corruption. Demonstrations headed by a group calling itself “Dignity and Truth” began in early September, 2015 following the embezzlement of over $1 billion from Moldova’s banks. Protesters are outraged at the lack of oversight and accountability in their government, which is unable to account for the missing money. Moldova is considered the poorest country in Europe.
