Sectarian Violence in Pakistan

More Info
On January 10, 2012, the Pakistani militant group, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, set off two bombs in the city of Quetta - an area populated by Shia ethnic Hazaras - killing almost 100 people. Shias, who make up one-fifth of the Pakistani population, have been targeted by militant groups aiming to eliminate the group from Pakistan. Most recently, the Shia population is refusing to bury the victims of the most recent attack until they are guaranteed protection from the government. Since the attack, protests and vigils have spread throughout the country and protesters are refusing to back down until their demands are met.
