Women's Rights in Afghanistan
Although women in Afghanistan are seemingly being granted increased rights in recent years, the reality of their situation has not changed. The rights afforded, such as education, has only made Afghanistan's women more vulnerable to harassment and persecution by the country's male dominated society. Many girls schools, for example, have been burned down in protest. Afghani women continue to suffer domestic violence with no legal recourse and continue to be restricted in their participation in public life, even by their own families. More
