Angola’s Abuse of Migrants
More Info
Angola’s security forces systematically violate the rights of migrants
across the country. Migrants, including women and children, are often
detained and subjected to sexual abuse. Undocumented migrants also
face arbitrary detentions, mass arrests, beatings, and other cruel
treatment. These abuses are especially common when migrants are in
custody before being deported. The detention conditions are inhumane,
with prisoners even having died while in custody from such causes as
overcrowding.
