Fair Elections in Iraq

More Info
Provincial elections are slated to take place in Iraq on April 20, 2013. As of early April - in the lead up to the polls - a dozen of the candidates have been killed. The motives, families have suggested, are political and due to the victims' participation in the elections. The killings have contributed to the growing tensions between Iraq's Sunni community and the country's Shiite-led government. Of the 12 candidates killed, all but one were Sunni Arabs. Seven of them were Iraqiya members.
